Product Description
Meet Little Miss Molly, born on June 3, 2025, to her wonderful, loving parents Ryan and Jackie, who happen to be two of the best people we know, beyond excited for the next chapter of their lives with their growing family. Just four weeks after Molly was born, the Tactac family began to experience what would become more medical hardships than one family should ever have to go through in many lifetimes. Molly began having seizures and was ultimately taken to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with Cortical Dysplasia. This meant, at just about 6 weeks old, Molly would have her first brain surgery on August 6. The surgical team and Molly’s family felt hopeful and optimistic about the surgery and its outcome. Surgery #1 went well, and her surgical team felt confident Molly was working towards being seizure-free without any permanent or semi-permanent complications. Unfortunately, just a few days after Surgery #1, Molly began to experience seizures again. It was determined by her medical team and family that another brain surgery would be best to work towards the ultimate goal of being seizure-free. After more scans and testing, Molly went in for Surgery #2 on August 14. Again, surgery went well, and the doctors were more confident they were getting Molly towards a seizure-free life, only with mild impacts to her fine motor skills in her left hand and her smile on the left side for the next year. Similar to Surgery #1, a few days after #2, Molly began experiencing seizures again. Her medical team in Michigan recommended that she take a trip to the East Coast to have a second opinion and more extensive testing done at Boston Children’s Hospital, the number one pediatric neurology program. Her appointment is scheduled for August 29. Ahead of this appointment, Ryan and Jackie got a call from their medical team here in Michigan. After Surgery #2, the tissues were sent to pathology for further testing. When the results came back, Molly was diagnosed with Histiocytic Sarcoma, a rare brain cancer, at just 13 weeks old. In times that should be filled with milestones, so many snuggles, too many baby pictures to keep track of, and so much love and happiness, they have been replaced with hospitals, surgeries, significant ups and downs, and again, more than any one family should ever have to go through. Yet through it all, the Tactac/Townsend family has displayed immense courage and strength, all with the goal to do what is best for Molly to get the help she needs, no matter where that takes them. Medical challenges, at any age, take a significant toll on a family whether that is mentally, physically, emotionally, or financially. While Ryan and Jackie both have been able to extend their leave of absence from their jobs, we wanted to put this fundraiser together to help ease some of the financial burden that will come with impending medical bills, travel costs, and other life expenses while they already have so much on their plate. I have never seen two people more excited to be someone’s Mom and Dad, and while no one ever deserves to go through something like this, these two absolutely incredible human beings do not deserve this hand they have been dealt. On behalf of their family and friends, we are holding strong in our prayers, positive vibes, healing thoughts, and all of the love we can send their way, that there is a bigger plan at work and Molly will be okay on the other side of all that lies ahead of her. Please consider donating, any amount you may feel comfortable or able to, to help support this wonderful family who has been handed battle after battle since Miss Molly made her entrance into the world. Your donations, thoughts, prayers, and love are deeply appreciated by Molly’s entire family.
